A time arrives in life when there are more days behind than ahead and thoughts turn to documenting the past as a bridge to the future for generations to come…such a time has arrived in my life since I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, a neurological diminishing disease for which there is no cure. My own thoughts when I think of my own grandparents are of why I did not ask more questions or seek more information about their lives as French Canadians who migrated to Michigan in the late nineteenth century…which is the reason I dedicate this memoir about my life and times to our one and only grandchild Chloe Fern Starke, since she will live in a future where I cannot go.

This book is the story told by a grandfather to his granddaughter of his life in various roles as a teen father; an air force service member; a student who earned a bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees after leaving public school before graduation; and a university professor and consultant to public school systems and mentor and advisor to hundreds of new education leaders.
About the Author
Dr. Sny is a retired associate professor and former faculty member at Bowie State University in the University of Maryland system where he served as Coordinator and Supervisor of the graduate internship program in administration and supervision of K-12 schools.
