Church Done Different

Like Bruce Lee’s quote, Church Done Different starts like water, shapeless, a blank canvas, an empty cup. This book will take you on a journey of fully understanding what it means to come to God as water, asking him to shape you and mold you be it in ministry or your business. After 13 years of pastoring, I realized I was failing repeatedly because every time I would run into trouble, I would withdraw or shut down the ministry. During one significant challenge, when someone in the church hurt me deeply, God spoke to me and said the problem son is that you keep marring the clay, taking your foot off the pedal, which stops the wheel from spinning and collapsing the clay to nothing. God impressed upon my heart to keep creating, to keep leading, keep loving and building while the wheel is yet spinning. This book emphasizes the importance of remaining adaptable (shapeless and formless like water) to God's guidance while responsibly managing what God has entrusted to you as a leader or entrepreneur, with the goal of fulfilling our purpose as Imago Dei—being made in God’s image. In Genesis 1, the very first imagery we have is God’s creative genius by simply reading and understanding In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. With that simple but revealing scripture we have received a charge and an expectation. If God is the ultimate creator and we are made in His image, our ministry, and our business should reflect His creative genius.
