About the Book
“A powerful and honest memoir by an indomitable woman and an extraordinary Army wife. The traumatic experience of losing her first husband to the Vietnam War, followed by a horrible betrayal, should have broken her spirit. Instead, she showed exceptional resilience and made the decision to love another soldier, the heroic Roger Donlon, and embrace the Army life once again, wherever it led them. We can all learn lessons from Norma Donlon in grace, courage and love.”
—Hollister (Holly) K. Petraeus

“What a privilege and honor to endorse Norma Donlon’s book about her Soldiers. Norma knows what sacrifice and service is all about. Having served our Army for 43 years, I have come to admire and respect the sacrifice of our Army spouses and the sacrifice of our mothers. Having known Norma for many years, her story is filled with humility, honor, service, and love. I fully endorse Norma’s story and strongly recommend it to all men and women in the Army, as well as to their serving spouses and children.”
