Fay Ray Lost Her Way

Fay Ray swam in big circles so that all the people watching could see her white spots. There were lots of “oohs” and “aaaahhs,” even some pointing. As Fay Ray made another circle, she noticed the crowd had left. “Where did they go?” She looked over and saw her mom, and something that looked like a tiny burrito. The crowd had moved to where her mom was, and they were clapping and smiling. When Fay Ray swam closer, she realized that the tiny burrito was actually a baby manta ray! His wings were wrapped around him and all she could see were his big, blue eyes poking out from the end. “This is Jay, your new baby brother!” Fay Ray's mom said happily. Fay Ray didn't know if she was happy or sad, or both.“Why does he look like a burrito?” she asked. Her mom explained, “All baby manta rays look like that when they are born." Fay Ray frowned "Well, I don't think I like him!” she said as she swam off.
