Sacred land to the Britons, the Tor is key to events in the novel. Joseph of Arimathea. a vastly wealthy Pharisee, turned from his homeland and his commercial empire to answer Christ’s call to evangelism and carried the Holy Grail, the Messiah’s cup, to the northern isle of Britannia. Aided by the once-crippled Reuben ben Ezra, who was healed by the blood of Jesus on the road to Calvary, and the Lady of the Lake, a Celtic prophetess, they find themselves embroiled in a Tribal dynastic struggle that heralds Rome’s invasion of the island. Christ enables Reuben to perform a miraculous healing, and with the Lady of the Lake, they insert a “changling,” a near twin, into a Briton Tribe’s dynastic succession. They face suspicion and resistance from the Briton Tribes in a time foreshadowing Rome’s invasion of the island. Aided by two former Roman tribunes who follow Christ, they work to prepare Britannia Tribes for war with Rome. Beyond hostile Tribes opposing them, there are other adversaries – Dark Forces who employ pagan magic to stop the Good News from spreading across the land. And the Ancient Woods east of Avalon remain the lair of a Forest Demon….

Reuben ben Ezra, a cripple healed by Christ’s blood on the road to Calvary, follows his master, Joseph of Arimathea, who answers his call from Christ to take the Good News to the northern isle of Britannia. Joseph and Reuben find themselves embroiled in a Tribal dynastic struggle that heralds Rome’s invasion of the island. Aided by two former Roman tribunes who follow Christ, they work to prepare Britannia Tribes for war with Rome. Beyond hostile Tribes opposing them, there are other adversaries – Dark Forces who employ pagan magic to stop the Good News from spreading across the land.
About the Author
Living in Southeast Texas with his wife Liz, Ben F. Lee is an enthusiastic, dedicated Christian, with a special love of the Crucifixion era. His award winning professional writing work includes newspaper reporter, manager-resume company, director of proposal development [major Southeast Texas engineering firm], self-employed writing consultant, freelance articles [various company publications], and ghost writer for novelists. A long-time member of the Golden Triangle Writers Guild, Lee served in numerous capacities from president to member of the Board of Directors. He is a current member of Texas Gulf Coast Writers. Since 1976 an active member in the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. [SCA], a medieval reenactment group where he gained extensive hands-on knowledge of the Medieval Period, Lee is recognized as a fighting instructor for Southeast and Central Texas chivalric and rapier fighting.
