The Ultimate Quest

The Ultimate Quest is a narrative of five generations who scaled the changes in life that confronted each individual starting from the end of the Spanish regime in the Philippines, through the impact of American domination in nearly 50 years of their occupancy with the resultant embodiment of these influences after the independence of the country. The primary settings described are well known to many of those who were either born and grew up in the country or had visited while in uniform or as tourists. Each generation had their share of progression from childhood to responsible adults. They faced challenges with commitments to succeed despite faced with apparent and unforeseeable setbacks. These lead to new directions with predictable outcomes imbued with changes that were brought by unforetold circumstances. Each one faced their challenges with a firm conviction that what they each or all planned for, were preordained hence doable. Their determination to succeed carried an inherent spirit which prodded them to do their best upon which one may say that failure is not within their vocabulary. The title aptly illustrate how every incident in life parallels the resolve to conquer a volcano that reaching the top highlights the grains of success
