My brain just refuses to listen to the math teacher …. and every other teacher.” “Mr. Kale, do you want to make it two days?” said Ms. Smith now giving Jake the evil eye. “No ma’am.” Just then the bell rung announcing the end of the day. But to Jake it felt as if the bell was mocking his misery. Mrs. Smith dismissed the class and every other child rushed out the door, it being the last class of the day. But not Jake. Jake walked out the door sluggishly, stalling for more time. Jake has been to detention so many times that he knew the way there by heart. Jake took his time as he thought to himself: One-day people will admire that I daydream so much. They would all gather around to hear them. His thoughts were more accurate than he thought.
