Certainly a point of this book is that this child is not demon possessed, there is no evil in this child. Nor is this child a freak of nature. It is a child that deserves nurturing, love and care just as any other child does. Our society, with its prejudices, would make this child more likely to be abused verbally, emotionally and phyisically when growing up. It is this environment that the parents and the church must counteract. In Luke17:2 Jesus says "it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck then for him to cause one of these to sin" (NIV).The sin would be driving this child out of the church when it is most needed. To say to this child that you are possessed by "intrinsic evil" is reinforcing the prejudices this child will have to face. If there is something to be done, and there is in all of us, Jesus, through God's grace, must be trusted to do it. The conservative churches make every effort to thwart the acceptance of this child by their parents, themselves and society, by a rhetoric that tears down their hopes, self esteem and poisons their relationship with others, and with God.

About the Book
The story of the Christian Church and homosexuality is told by highlighting the church’s homosexual positions. Several biblical passages have been characterized as condemning same-sex relationships. The open literature and this work provide alternative interpretations. Historically churches reject alternative interpretations out of hand. In this work church positions are critiqued both historically and logically. It is argued that the churches refusal to discuss alternative and traditional positions are the result of a religious arrogance that is homophobic. They have inserted themselves into the United States political process with a rhetoric that would deny human rights and life itself. This book, prior to publication, has been used as a study guide for diversity seminars.
About the Author
The author is a graduate of Northwestern University where he earned a PhD in mechanical engineering and astronautical sciences. He holds numerous patents and is widely published in scientific journals. He led a team of engineers in the development of advanced spacecraft power systems. His interest in homosexuality issues was spawned by his churches rejection of homosexuals. This led to a historically based study of the churches position. The emphasis is on a logical discussion of those biblical passages that are used to condemn homosexuality.
