The Old Farm House and the Outhouse
It was only yesterday
Many years ago
The years slipped by quietly
before you could ever know
The old farm house disappeared
The outhouses were few
A modern world captured simplicity
And the old world too
Little Frog on the Lily Pad
Little frog on the lily pad
Floating down the stream
Are you looking for a princess
Or searching for a dream
Do you need someone to talk to
Or do you need to be convinced
That if you find the princess
Perhaps you'll be the prince
Little frog on the lily pad
When your reflection's seen
Do you see a frog on the lily pad
Or a prince finding his dream
Be careful and not fall in
This long and rushing stream
Little frog or prince whatever
Searching fantasy or dream
Chasing Dreams
Are you chasing dreams
So much afar
Wishing to come true
To where you are
Are you trying to make
The wishes be real
That your every wish
With a kiss to seal
Stardust covering
Near some distant star
You extend your wish
From where you are
Magic upon magic
It's a sweet kind of dare
It makes life exciting
Anyplace anywhere

About the Book
Beautiful Words Coming My Way is the Culmination of more than 60 years of poems written by Angelina M. Pennisi Steiner and focuses on a wide range of topics- from life and family to children’s poems and fantasy. Steiner wrote for personal use and had never intended to publish her work. Her poems were stored in a dresser and discovered by her daughter. The collection contains a poem for all occasions. Beautiful Words Coming My Way contains life lessons taught through her perspective. She reminds readers what’s most important out of life. The book was inspired mostly from everyday events. Beautiful Words Coming My Way is a lasting legacy of life in all seasons and stages.
About the Author
Angelina M. Pennisi has full-filled a long held goal for one of her lifelong passions. The 81 year old Plant City resident has published a second book of poetry compiled from hundreds of verses she has penned through the years. The oldest of five sisters, she helped her large Italian family with chores and childcare. Steiner said she started writing poetry at age 13 when she won a school poetry contest and began submitting entries to her school newspaper. The Pensacola native's first poem, "The Rusty Clock," was selected to be among the Children's Album of Poetry Archives. She won several contests and appeared on television. She worked as a stenographer at a U.S.O. Club and an operator with Southern Bell Telephone. Steiner continued writing poems as a wife and mother raising four children. Her family moved frequently because of her husband Hank Steiner's career in the U.S. Navy and later in the trucking business. Angelina was a member of the Florida Writer's Association. She enjoys sharing poems with staff and friends at the Plant City Senior Center, where she volunteers twice a week. Regular activities include playing dominoes, reading, attending church and singing gospel songs with her friends. She feels blessed to live near her four children and three grandchildren. Her advice to readers: "Set a good example for children because they look up to their parents and adults who care for them. Try Being nice and cordial at all times. Treat others as you would like them to treat you."
