Lord God,
from the moment You created the first human being,
it was Your intention to have a personal relationship
with every one of us.
You lovingly created us.
You created us to be Your children,
Your companions;
You rejoiced in our being.
But we had an independent streak.
We chose to do things our way;
we disobeyed the simple rules You laid down.
We failed to appreciate all the good things You gave us.
Instead, we invented sin....
We strayed from You,
but You were not satisfied to let us go.
So You scattered little bread crumbs
to entice us to come back to You.
You whispered to us in our dreams,
saying, “Come to Me,
I am the one who loves you most.”....

Sue E. Trout, a retired United Methodist Licensed Local Pastor, entered the ministry after her retirement from a career as college, high school, and public librarian. Her religious background is wide and varied, including United Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Benedictine, and Presbyterian. Sue has always approached her faith with the viewpoint that God’s love is all encompassing.
