I’m a barred owl with big, dark eyes. With silent wings I hunt through the skies. I’m the only owl that hoots night and day. “Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you?” you can hear me say. When courting, the male and female barred owls bob their heads back and forth with raised wings and sing together. It is pretty spooky to watch, especially at night.

About the Author
Pam Sheppard is a retired elementary school teacher. She moved to Missouri and developed a passion for bird watching. All of the birds in this book are birds that she learned about while living in Missouri. She loves seeing God's beautiful creations in the sky, trees, and water. She enjoys sharing her love of bird watching with her husband, five children and sixteen grandchildren.
