I could hardly get to sleep, I could not stop thinking of seeing something I have never seen before. Bailey told me I was going to be taking the steps that would lead us into amazing travels and adventures. She told Steve and me that the three of us would be capturing and fighting monsters. Imagine that if you can. Bailey has often talked to me about things to come. Like when she said I had a black and white dog, and I told her, “No I don’t.” She just said, “Well, you will have one soon.”
As I sleep, I dream of walking through a cloud, not being able to see a thing. It’s an emptiness that offers no cold or heat, but invisibility. I walk out of that fog, take a step, and feel myself falling into an open space. All the time while dropping, I could hear Ziggy giving off her little barks. I could picture her bouncing up and down and wagging her tail as I was about to crash into whatever awaited me.
I looked down and viewed what I thought for sure were cactus plants below me, and I am heading straight for them. I can still hear my little black and white pup, Ziggy, up on the cliff, giving off a small bark now and again. I can picture her up on that ledge bouncing around like a little ball, but she appears to be getting closer.
Looking up, I have a vivid view of my little buddy streaking directly towards me with all four paws stretched out in all directions, like a huge kite. You know, like those massive kites the kids made at school. I think she must have jumped off the cliff to save me because here she comes, headed right for me.
This series of books is about three teenagers and their unusual pets, who learn they are at the heart of a prophecy.

About the Book
Marty, Steve, and Bailey are three teenagers who have been friends since childhood, living in southeastern Washington state, where their families have lived forever. Marty, who aces school with little studying, is fascinated by every kind of living creature. Steve is kind and caring, always ready to help someone in need. Bailey, with whom Marty is in love, has a power that allows her to occasionally see the future—but neither of her friends has any idea how far her visions of the future will take them.
The teens and their families live on the edge of a beautiful national forest, and it is in this forest that they will find their destinies. As they encounter a mysterious unknown world, they discover things about themselves, raise questions about their pasts and futures, and work to overcome challenges as they help the people they meet along the way. The three young people learn that they are at the heart of a centuries-old prophecy that speaks of outlanders who will heal these lands, protect their people, and set right what has gone wrong.
In this fantasy novel, three teenagers travel into a fantastical new place, where their adventures reveal their roles in a prophesy that will change their lives forever.
About the Author
Gary Wayne is an artist and writer who hails from the Pacific Northwest. Born in Portland, Oregon, he enjoys painting, drawing, and studying history and politics, and he has even run for political office. His previous writing experience includes writing columns for independent newspapers in many states and creating posts for Facebook and Twitter, much of it dealing with history and politics. He currently lives in southeastern Washington State.
