About the Author

Rita M. Wirtz authored a number of books, including Reading Champs, Teaching Reading Made Easy, and her memoir, Stories from a Teacher’s Heart. Rita holds a B.A. in English and Speech, a Master’s Degree in Reading from Arizona State University, and an Administrative Services Credential (Pre-Adult) through California State University, Sacramento. She is a language and reading specialist who has instructed at all levels, including pre-adult classrooms, second language learner, special needs classes, labs and clinics. Rita served as a Pre-6 Principal, University Adjunct Professor instructing Reading and School Administration. She was a nationally renowned Seminar Leader, Keynote Speaker, and more. After moving to Oregon, Rita taught preschool for several years, always perfecting her craft.
