Smoked Salmon Martini
Location: Alaska
Recipe:
6 oz Vodka
1 Teaspoon fresh black ground pepper
Small piece of smoked salmon for cocktail, one for garnish
4 Sprigs fresh dill
Pinch of extra hot horseradish
Garnish: Smoked salmon and dill sprig
Pour vodka into shaker over ice. Add pepper, smoked salmon, fresh dill and horseradish to shaker, shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with smoked salmon and dill on cocktail toothpick.
The salmon run in Alaska is an experience like no other; the flash of shimmering scales just below the smooth surface of chilled Alaskan streams with craggy, snow-topped peaks as a backdrop reflected in the water. This savory cocktail is inspired by the icy Alaskan air and the flavorful salmon found in the unblemished mountain brooks. It makes for a great brunch cocktail as well.
